Cranial Osteopathy is a gentle and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses gentle techniques to encourage
the release of stress throughout the body and restore normal function. It can be tailored for people of all ages.
A cranial osteopath is a qualified osteopath, with further post-graduate training in cranial therapy.
Sarah Davies is a registered cranial osteopath in Malvern and has been qualified for 10 years. As a cranial
osteopath she has experience in treating babies, children and adults of all ages.
Babies - Complications of birth such as a fast or slow delivery or the need
for a forceps delivery, can cause
stress & strain within the head and body of the infant. The baby can also retain residual stress or shock from the
birth. These types of birth complications can in principle lead to problems such as feeding difficulties, colic and
sleep disturbance. A cranial osteopath can use gentle cranial techniques to help release these restrictions
and stresses through the body.
Children - stresses and strains can also occur in toddlers & children, for example after injury such as a fall.
Children often enjoy having osteopathy and will sit and play during treatment or lie down and be read a story by the
parent. A cranial osteopath has experience in treating children of all ages.
Adults - Cranial Osteopathy can also be used for adults. Head injuries, whiplash, jaw problems, arthritis,
migraines, tinnitus, are just a few examples of problems that can cause stresses and strains in the body. Adult
patients find Cranial osteopathy very relaxing and can be combined with massage or other osteopathic techniques
during a treatment, to aid further benefit.
